The Red Devils Set to Sign German Forward Lea Schüller from the Bavarian Giants

The Women's Super League club are finalising completing the signing for prolific German forward Lea Schüller on a permanent transfer from Bayern Munich.

A Marquee Acquisition for United

The forward, with six months left on her deal, has been a prolific goalscorer for her club and the national team. Having netted over 100 goals for Bayern and found the net 54 times in 82 caps for Germany. Her arrival will be seen as a major coup for the WSL side.

Departure from Munich has been anticipated since she was seen holding back emotions while applauding the club's fans following a victory over Bayer Leverkusen this month.

It was reported in December that the Frauen-Bundesliga was set to lose one of its leading strikers. According to multiple sources, the formalities for the transfer have now been completed.

Reliable Goalscoring to Boost United's Attack

The experienced striker's arrival should represent a major uplift to the team's attacking options. She has been remarkably reliable with her finishing in the Bundesliga.

• For seven consecutive seasons, including the last term, she achieved at least a double-figures tally of league goals.
• She won the Golden Boot in the 2021-22 season with a haul of 16 goals.

The acquisition of Schüller’s signature comes at a time when United appear to be gathering momentum.
