Red Bull Reveals Major 2026 Driver Line-Up: Hadjar Promoted, Teenager Arvid Lindblad Earns Grand Prix Debut.

The Red Bull team has revealed a major reshuffle for the 2026 F1 campaign, promoting Frenchman Isack Hadjar to its A-team and awarding 18-year-old Briton Arvid Lindblad his first F1 drive.

Lindblad, who has a Swedish father and a mother of Indian descent, will be the partner of New Zealander Liam Lawson at the sister squad Racing Bulls.

These changes sees Japanese driver Yuki Tsunoda exiting the grid after five seasons.

The New British Hope

Lindblad has been identified as a prodigy by Red Bull from the age of 12 years old.

Discussing the team's young driver programme, a senior Red Bull figure noted last year that Lindblad "seems extremely gifted", praising his "pure speed".

The team has had a plan since last year to prepare Lindblad for his potential F1 debut in 2026, featuring runs in Grand Prix practice at Silverstone and Mexico City.

Lindblad stated it was a "huge honour", adding: "Next season represents a huge step, and I know there's plenty to absorb, but I'm ready to work closely with the team and meet the challenge. I can't wait to get started."

He has won two races in F2 so far this season and is sixth in the standings ahead of the final round in Abu Dhabi.

A Major Opportunity for Hadjar

Hadjar's F1 career started on a low note when he spun out during the warm-up lap of the first Australian Grand Prix. But, from that point, he has been one of the stand-out newcomers this season.

He featured an remarkable top-three result at the Dutch Grand Prix, and he sits in tenth place in the championship.

A senior team figure commented: "Isack has shown great maturity and proved to be a fast adapter. Most importantly, he has the raw speed that is the primary necessity in this sport. We believe he can thrive next to Max."

The promoted driver called it "an incredible opportunity" and said he felt "up for the challenge".

Lawson Retains His Seat

To partner Lindblad at the junior team, Red Bull have chosen Lawson instead of Tsunoda.

The New Zealander started 2025 with the main team but was demoted after just two races. However, he has found his form at the junior outfit with notable results, convincing Red Bull he deserves another season.

The Japanese driver, meanwhile, loses his place after a disappointing season. His highest finish is a sixth place, and he has accumulated a small fraction of the team's constructors' championship.

These announcements mean that there remains no place on the Red Bull programme for Ireland's Alex Dunne, who will remain in F2 for 2026.
