Nigel Farage Claims Educators of ‘Poisoning Our Kids’ on Race Issues

The political figure stated that teachers would go on strike within weeks a success at the polls for his party, accusing them of “poisoning our kids” by telling children that African-Caribbean youth are oppressed and Caucasian students are perpetrators.

At a gathering for a private US Christian college, Farage outlined his perspective on British schools, claiming that the “radical left-wing” had “now in control of our education system”.

“I’m anticipating a walkout by educators very quickly after securing a victory,” he remarked during a Q&A session.

“They are corrupting young minds. They instruct children to feel guilt about their nation. They inform little Johnny, who’s eight, who is black that he is a victim and little Oliver, who is white, who is eight that he is a perpetrator. They are dividing us, not uniting us. They promote this negative culture.”

In response to these assertions, the head of a major education union dismissed the notion that the schools were under Marxist influence as “absurd”. Kebede noted that industrial action must relate to teachers’ terms and conditions, and questioned whether Reform would attack these immediately upon entering government.

“The politician has crafted his public life on dog-whistle politics and currently, similar to other figures, he is targeting educators and their unions for a conflict,” the union leader said.

“This is highly reckless. Neither I nor our union – push critical race theory as he claims … If he were to lead the government he would sell out our public services, particularly schooling … and he would be a disaster for students and learning.”

The party, which tops surveys by about 10 points, has provided limited specifics on a proposed education policy and seems not to have designated an education lead.

However, his comments suggested the party would overhaul the educational framework. He said: “We face an enormous task with education – absolutely herculean. Moreover, it won’t happen quickly; it will take us years, a long-term effort to reform.”

He stated that younger generations are receptive to analytical thought, but older youth were “completely lost”.

Honoring a conservative activist, Farage said: “My goal for schooling is to teach critical thinking – to educate individuals that there are two points of view and they should decide for themselves rather than what’s happening now where one is virtuous and one is evil. It’s a massive job in the UK and US.”

The party has conflicted with the UK’s largest teaching union, after the union leader labeled them “extremist and prejudiced” and dismissed Farage as “a poundshop Donald Trump”.

The politician has charged Kebede of being “an avowed radical” … someone who is absolutely determined that our children should be poisoned through education, their minds should be poisoned regarding national issues” and maintained that the organization seeks to brainwash teenagers against Reform.

Almost one million people are employed in education in the UK, about half of whom are teachers and the remainder being assistants and administrative personnel. The major education union has about 450,000 members.

National strikes over educators’ salaries and work environment in recent years led to significant interruptions in schools and extensive missed instruction for children.

At the US event, Farage also vowed to promote the digital courses of the institution in the UK. He stated such groups were “part of the fightback”, noting: “I am serious. I’ll assist attract vast numbers of youth to these educational programs. I pledge this tonight and I’ll do that.”

The college, a religious educational establishment, offers free courses. Its website states: “A scientific, literary, theological, political, and moral education is vital for well-being and to maintain the benefits of freedom. It offers these excellent programs for no charge to every interested learner.”
