Multiple passengers and crew have been injured when a Delta flight from LA to Sydney experienced turbulence on Friday morning.
The flight, numbered 41 "encountered brief turbulence" as it touched down at the Sydney airport, an airline spokesperson stated. A number of the onboard staff sustained injuries.
Emergency medical services reported they evaluated a total of five people, and transferred a trio to a medical facility with minor injuries that included back pain and headaches. Those affected were between their 30s up to the 70s.
This marks the most recent case of commercial jets experiencing turbulence, with aviation specialists indicating that shifting climate patterns is a major factor.
There were nearly 250 travelers and fifteen staff members on the aircraft, the representative said, clarifying that the plane touched down "safely" at the airport at shortly before 7 a.m. on Friday morning.
