Jurgen Klopp, who departed from Anfield in 2024, has suggested that rejoining the club remains a possibility. The 58-year-old, following a hugely successful nine-year spell that included Champions League success and the Premier League crown in 30 years, has since taken on positions in a global football capacity for Red Bull and in an advisory capacity to Germany's league body.

Klopp was full of praise of the current boss, acknowledging his role for the adjustments which secured the championship in the previous season. Liverpool have lost a string of losses in every contest after a summer spending spree, yet he dismissed the idea it could be the start of a downward turn.

He shared movingly about the death of Diogo Jota, whom he brought in in 2020, along with the consequences on Liverpool. The forward was killed in a road accident with his brother recently.
“Can you substitute somebody like Diogo? It’s not about his footballing ability, it’s the guy he was. It's hard to picture the dressing room missing him. Putting it into words is tough on this topic. A profound tragedy for the entire squad too. No one within the club might employ it as an excuse but it is the situation. You walk in a dressing room where his spirit remains.
