Iran Reports Attack on US Base in the Kingdom of Bahrain, During Regional Retaliatory Strikes.

Iran's military claims to have hit a American military facility in Manama, as the country executed missile attacks across the region in retaliation for a significant and ongoing offensive against it by the United States and Israeli forces.

Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an vicinity near the command center of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The extent of any damage is not yet known and the United States has remained silent.

Regional Interceptions

In other parts of the Middle East, the UAE, Qatar and Kuwait - which all house American military installations - said they have engaged and destroyed missiles in their territorial skies.

In the Qatari capital, Qatar's defence ministry said it had intercepted several missiles seemingly aimed at the Al Udeid Air Base, the largest American base in the Middle East.

IRGC Statement

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard said in a statement it was targeting American facilities and interests as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in reprisal for the offensive on the Islamic Republic initiated by the US and Israel on Saturday.

That initial attack - executed at around 06:15 GMT - has so far struck areas associated with the Iranian leadership, with US President Donald Trump calling on the people of Iran to revolt against the government.

Regional Fallout

In the State of Israel, air raid sirens sounded across the country after the Israeli military reported it had identified an barrage of missiles from Iran.

The Ministry of Defence of the UAE said in a statement that the country has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"Emirati air defenses engaged the projectiles with notable success and successfully intercepted a series of missiles," it added.

Officials reported missile fragments landed in a populated district in the capital, resulting in some material damage and fatalities.

The US Air Force operates from the Al Dhafra base, south of Abu Dhabi, along with the UAE Air Force.
