Devoted followers of Ariana Grande are urging that a man who leaped a barrier and seized the performer during Thursday's Wicked: For Good debut be taken into custody or removed from Singapore.

A circulating footage reveals the Australian man bypassing media personnel and charging at Grande while the cast proceeded down a event pathway flanked by onlookers.

Fellow actress Cynthia Erivo immediately pulled the surprised star away from Mr Wen, who was spotted being removed of the event by guards.

Mr Wen posted on Instagram recently that he was "let go after being arrested", though legal records revealed that he was due to be present on the following morning. It is uncertain if he was faced legal action.

History of Incidents

This is not an isolated incident for Mr Wen, who describes himself as a "Controversial Figure", has disrupted a concert or event. His Instagram account contains clips of him disturbing other high-profile occasions, including breaching the performance area at Katy Perry's Sydney concert in earlier this year and in a like fashion during The Chainsmokers event in the city last year.

"Steps should be implemented applied against him as this is clearly a criminal offence," stated an Instagram user, in a reply to a video Mr Wen shared of his behavior.

"Oh wow so you do this a lot... how aren't you in jail?" another Instagram user questioned.

Fans Show Disapproval Over Ariana's Past Trauma

Numerous followers blamed Mr Wen for "re-traumatising" Grande, who had spoken of dealing with trauma-related anxiety after a terrorist explosion at the end of her 2017 show in Manchester, claiming the lives of 22 people and wounding numerous individuals.

"Ariana has been through so many scary things... and at her Manchester concert and you thought it would be fun to jump the barricade?" wrote another response on Instagram.

A number of attendees also faulted security officers at the premiere for not being adequately prepared; while others called for online networks to block Mr Wen's videos.

Response and Premiere Information

In footage circulating online, Grande seemed startled when she was touched by the man. Her co-stars Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be seen consoling her while Mr Wen was escorted away by guards.

Grande has remained silent on the event, and the remaining proceedings continued without further issues.

Many of attendees had congregated in a mass of green and pink at the Wicked: For Good regional premiere in a Singapore mall, including a number who had waited for as long as eight hours before it started.

The movie, to be premiered on the 21st of November, is the second of a two-film version of the popular stage musical Wicked, which revolves around the unexpected bond between two contrasting sorceresses.

The musical itself is a derivative of the 1900 story The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

Grande, who acts as the character Glinda Glinda, was decked out in a champagne pink glittering gown at the gathering while Erivo, who portrays the Elphaba, wore a elegant ensemble featuring roses.

They were joined by fellow actor Jeff Goldblum.

The first movie, Wicked, was the most successful film of last year in the UK, and received ten Oscar nominations, winning two for best costume and set decoration.
